Thank Our True Heroes Every Day

As we approach the anniversary of September 11th, we should take time to thank each and every member of the Armed Forces, police officer, fire fighter, and security guard. Every single day, they risk their lives to protect us, the citizens of the United States.

On that dreadful day, September 11th, 343 firefighters and 60 police officers lost their lives while attempting to save others. NEVER FORGET the heroism displayed by those incredible heroes.

Forget the heroes displayed by Hollywood: Captain America, Batman, Superman, and Spiderman. Forget about those “tough guy” Presidents displayed in movies like Executive Action, Air Force One, or Independence Day. I can’t recall if even one president during my lifetime would stand up face-to-face and beat the snot out of a terrorist. The most recent that would be have been President Eisenhower. Certainly not any of our more recent presidents.

Each year, some of us grow a little wary as September 11th approaches and wonder what catastrophe will occur. Let’s face it, there is evil in this world. Only with the Lord’s help, can evil be defeated. We must not cower but live out each day in celebration of the freedom granted to us from those who fought for that same freedom.

But most of all, we ought to thank those within our communities for their service and the risk taken each day to preserve our freedoms.

When a house catches fire, our true heroes arrive…

When a convenience store is robbed at gun point, our true heroes arrive…

When a parent suffers a heart attack near a busy intersection, our true heroes arrive…

When our nation is attacked from the sky or on the ground, our true heroes arrive…

Please, don’t take our freedoms for granted. People from around the globe continue to flock to the United States, not to destroy us, but rather for the opportunity to succeed like no other nation in the history of mankind.

Protect our freedoms! Protect our way of life! Protect our borders! Protect America!
